The Conejo Valley, rich with country heritage, will show off its roots during Conejo Valley Days (CVD), May 3 - 7 at Conejo Creek Park South in Thousand Oaks (23 Freeway at the Janss Road exit). "CVD Cheers for 50 Years" is this year's theme as we celebrate our 50th anniversary.
The festival will be filled with games, good food and an assortment of carnival rides for all ages. The five-day event will feature a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association-sanctioned rodeo. Rodeo times are: Saturday, May 6 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 7, 1:30 p.m. CVD also features continuous live entertainment and an authentic western pit barbecue. A huge white tent, known as "CVD Marketplace," will contain dozens of booths filled with crafts, western gear, sweets and product demonstrations and displays.
Other activities during CVD include the Badgeroo contest on Wednesday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m. Every year a new badge featuring the CVD theme is created. Contestants pit their badge collections against those of others, many whom have been collecting badges since the tradition began in 1964.
